Features to know about

Get Out of Deep Snow Fast: Square Links Bite and Hold

When the roads are packed with snow or covered in slick ice, these Konig chains keep you moving. The square links dig deeper than round links for stronger traction, while their smaller size gives you a smoother ride with less vibration. The diamond pattern keeps traction constant across the tire so you don’t get that on-off feel you get from ladder chains. Traction plates help bust through icy buildup to keep each wheel grabbing firmly.

Stay Focused on the Road: Self-Tensioning System Does the Work

Once you hook these chains up, they automatically tighten and center as you drive. There’s no need to stop, check, and retighten. That’s a real time-saver when it’s cold or snowing. The color-coded connection points make setup intuitive—you simply drape them over the tire, make the connections, and drive off. The built-in adjusters handle the rest.

Tire chains laid flat on the ground in front of a vehicle tire to remove tangles and prepare for installation.

Drive Smoothly With Limited Clearance: Class S Design Fits Tight Spaces

Some vehicles just don’t leave much room around the tires. These chains meet SAE Class S standards, working with as little as 1/2" of internal clearance. They’re ideal when you need traction without bulky hardware getting too close to suspension or brake parts. That low-profile fit keeps everything neat and secure while you drive.

Protect Your Wheels While You Climb Icy Roads: Nylon Bumpers and Coated Hooks Prevent Scratches

Cold metal on chrome or alloy can leave marks, but not here. The nylon bumpers shield your rims, and the plastic-coated hooks keep your hands from freezing while you latch things down. It’s a thoughtful touch that makes winter trips a little easier and keeps your wheels looking good.

Built to Last Through Many Seasons: Manganese Nickel Alloy Steel Resists Corrosion

Winter driving is tough on metal, but these chains are made from high-quality manganese nickel alloy steel that stands up to rust and wear. The powder-coated side chain adds more protection against the elements. After use, just dry them before storing in the included nylon bag, and they’ll be ready for the next snowstorm—season after season.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

by:

Based on installation, five stars. They can be passed between the gap on dual rear wheels, although it is tricky. Have not used them in a snow/ice situation yet and hopefully will never have to do so with my Winnebago View 24D.

by:

Initially, I thought they were way overpriced. Boy was I wrong. BEST. CHAINS. EVER. Ease of use while on the side of the interstate was very evident as we were in and out before many others were still figuring out how to unravel their chains. WORTH. EVERY. PENNY. So much so that I ordered a second set to replace the older ladder-type chains in my second vehicle.
You may second-guess the price; however, you will be glad you spent the money after (quickly) installing them the first time.

by:

Fast delivery! I practiced putting chains on in our home garage and it was a great fit and easy installation. Very important, since putting on in snow will add more difficulty. Quality of chains looks excellent compared to chains I have purchased for other vehicles in past.

by:

I have only installed them in the driveway but was very pleased with the speed and ease of installation. I feel this is a very reasonably priced product an should provide years of service. I can highly recommend Konig as a quality purchase.

by:

Great product, works exactly like the video says!
I highly suggest you put them on at home in daylight and don't wait until you absolutely need them! Installing for the first time in the dark, 3 feet from trucks going past is not the most pleasant experience.

by:

Installation was as easy as is shown with the videos. However, the trick is removing them. Somewhat more difficult. Still, very pleased with their performance. I'm glad I spent the money for the higher quality chains.

by:

I just finished practicing putting on my new snow tire chains. It was really easy, even for a 75 year old grandmother. The video was helpful. I am looking forward to spending some time in the snow.

Thank you for your friendly customer service.

by:

Really fast turnaround on my order. Chains have already arrived. Ready to go. Amazing product.

Fantastic chains and we had a doozie of a winter last year. Easy to get on and off. Self adjusting feature is not optional in my view.

by:

I'll be honest, you don't need tire chains until you need tire chains and I have yet to use them. I do feel good knowing they are in my van and that I will be getting up my driveway if the weather gets bad at work. I really like the design.

by:

Amazing how quick these came and they look awesome!

by:

very fast delivery and wonderful chains. I would suggest watching a couple of the videos that show installation, because the directions included are somewhat cryptic. I have a driveway that is impossible to get up when snow covered with my front wheel drive Ford Maverick. with these Konig chains, no problem! Very slick design that are easy to put on and take off,.....once you know the system.

by:

These snow chains seem to fit our 2013 RAV4 tire size 225 65R/17. We have not had a chance to use them yet, so we have no comment on how well they perform or the functionality of the auto tension system. This 5 star review is based on a so-far-so-good basis.

What I think is that etrailer has terrific customer support, and you can buy from them with confidence that they will resolve any issues you have with your purchase, whether it be an exchange or refund. I think their prices are fair, but honestly I bought my chains from them with questions whether they would fit or not (they did fit), but knew if they didn't, etrailer would make it right. I know what I am saying is true as in the past I bought a hitch that didn't fit, and purchased a different hitch. They also have great technical expertise and will help you choose the right product. I've never installed chains before, and pulled up a [online] video from. etrailer which was better than the Konig manufacturer. Highly recommend this company!

by:

Easy and fast.

Konig are the BEST chains you can buy (in my not-so-humble opinion) - and the Customer Service by etrailer is as good as it gets... THANK YOU Quinn !

by:

I just received the chains so have not done a test fit yet or found out how they work. What I can say is that the etrailer staff has been great from answering my questions before purchase and keeping me updated on the delivery status. This team knows what quality service is and how to do it. Thank you Adam E, George J and I apologize but I don't remember the other two individuals I saw that picked and packaged the product. Great Job!!!

by:

Ordered for my Ford Transit 250. Arrived in two days. Brand new packaging as expected and all parts present. Will be using them this winter. They communicated order acceptance, shipping and arrival. Pleased with the whole thing.

They work great. Only issue is the chains can get twisted and its not always easy to figure it out.

by:

They go on, SO EASY!! BUT. :( I've used the about 10-15 times so far and quite a few of the cross-link bars have snapped and separated (the links that hold the opposite sides together). I reached out to Konig for the "5 year warranty" but haven't heard anything back (1+ week) since submiting my claim. Super dissapointed. $XXX chains should last more than a few uses. Warranties should be honored.

These chains are worth every penny. Female here, had never used chains before. I was able to get these on my SUV on a mountain pass in 5 minutes. Just watched the instructional videos and practiced installing them before I actually needed them. The road was pretty icy/snowy and I had good traction the whole way and kept my speed at 30 - 35mph. I'd buy these again.

Also shout out to etrailer customer service. UPS misdelivered my package and the folks in the customer service department were very quick to respond and open a claim for me. They were even willing to ship a replacement out (fortunately mine were found though). All around good purchase from a good company.

One year later and still happy with the purchase. Would still definitely recommend these!

by:

Works great on my Ford Transit.

by:

I am very happy that etrailer managed to deliver my chains even one day earlier than the estimated time, despite it was around Christmas and weather had been bad. I just did a test run with it, super easy to install. I will share more once we’re back from our winter trip.

by:

Two minutes. Yes, that is how long it took to put these chains on the tire. I didn't believe the other reviewers' reviews, but found out for myself that it's true. Everything is done from the outside of the tire. Brilliant design! Obviously, it's too early to tell how they will fare in the snow & ice this winter, but things are looking really good!
I bought two sets: one for our Lexus RX350 and one for our Chevrolet 2500 Express van. Both sets fit perfectly. They even supply gloves & a mat to kneel on when putting them on so as not to get wet.
Also, the chains arrived in two days...ahead of schedule.

(The pic shows the Lexus installation, but the Express van installation looked the same.)

by:

Went on quick and easily. I watched the installion video provided by etrailer. Exactly what you see, my only advice is be very careful to make sure the chains are spread out and completely untangled. If any links are crossed or tangled it won't go on correctly. Also l would recommend practicing putting them on once or twice. Once you have done that you can literally put them on in 5 minutes. The chains look very durable and quality materials. I got these for a predicted bad winter this year l will update after l get a chance to use them.

by:

Great Quality. Quick Installation and very easy to take off. Self-tensioning worked like a charm. I would definitely recommend them.

I bought these to use on my 2023 Rav4 TRD Off-Road OEM Falken AT Tires.

I highly recommend installing them at home a few times before heading up. Watching the etrailer videos on YouTube was also a huge help.

by:

Great tire chains. etrailer staff was so helpful on a few questions I had along the way.

Thanks for reaching out, Jared! I recommend using the Konig Tire Chains # TH01594245 for the 225/60R18 tires on your 2016 Honda CR-V Touring as they use the standard wrap-around chain style, but they also have an upgraded self-tensioning system that also have built-in protection for the wheels on their vehicle. The long and short of it is the # TH01594245 are not the correct fit for your RAV4. One big difference between the XB16 chains like part # TH01571245 and XG12 chains like the # TH01594245 is the link size which is hinted at in the title of the chains. The XB16 requires 16 mm of clearance and the XG12 only requires 12 mm. They are similar styles of chains that use the same principals for install and tensioning but overall the XG12 is a bit easier.
