Why Can't I Find a 5th Wheel Tailgate for My 2022 Dodge Ram 3500?

Question:
I have a 2022 Dodge Ram 3500 DRW truck and I would very much like to install a fifth wheel v-notch locking tailgate with a backup camera … I don’t see any products beyound a 2018 and certainly not one with a backup camera option. My tailgate mount is different because it has torsion bar and the left side attachment is slotted for the torsion bar, unlike the normal full circle-open round retainer with a plastic bushing. What do you have to sell that fits the 2019 and up trucks ? Inquiring minds want to know … I can cash an external camera so it’s a lessor priority… really need that louvered v notch tail gat though !

Hello Steve,
This is a great question. To be honest, I wasn't 100% so I reached out to Stromberg Carlson and they confirmed what I was thinking. They have made the truck tailgates way too high tech, so they have decided to no longer make tail gates for 5th wheels. I tried doing a Google search to suggest something for you, but when I get to the actual websites I cannot find one that will fit a 2022 Ram 3500. You might need to find someone to do a custom fabrication job. I am sorry I do not have a better answer for you. If you happen to come across one, please let me know where you found it.
