Hello Michael,

I did a search for the Hayes axle 2-060-588-70-4 and came up empty handed on the information that I need. When selecting the right brakes we need to know your axle capacity, you can find that on the axle tag. If the tag has fallen off, you will need to measure the axle. I have included a help article to reference if you need to measure.

Here are the brakes I would recommend for common axle capacities (assuming you have electric brakes):

3,500 pound axle: # AKEBRK-35-SA

5,200 - 7,000 pound axle: # AKEBRK-7-SA

The above brakes are self adjusting. If your axle is over 7k, please let me know.

Happy New Year! From, your friends here at etrailer!

Hi Kate, If you would send me the cost, including tax and shipping, I will send a check. I do not put credit card info. on the computer. The trailer has 2, 6000-pound axles so I guess I need the AKEBRK-7-SA assemblies. .

@MichaelA I really wish I could send you a price quote, but we are unable to do so. If you go through the checkout it will tell you the total before putting a card number in. Unfortunately, we can only accept online payment. I understand how you feel about putting your card information online, I can assure you that we have a secure checkout, however I have had customers in the past that will go purchase a prepaid Visa card (the visa gift cards) and make their purchase that way. Yes, you would need (2) of the # AKEBRK-7-SA. If you have any other questions, you know where to find me.

Do you know if these will fit a Hayes 3.5k axle?

@John Hey John, Yes, the # AKEBRK-35-SA will work on your Hayes 3.5k axle as it has a 4 bolt flange. If you are changing out your brakes it would be a great time to repack your bearings, if you need some grease the LubriMatic # L11380 will get the job done. If you don't have any grease seals on hand the # RG06-050 is the size you need as they are notorious for breaking when you remove them. Working on a fun trailer, or a work trailer?

@KateF Hi Kate, I appreciate the reminder. I have some grease, but I don't have extra seals. I probably haven't greased the bearings on this trailer in a couple years. It is an older Doolittle cargo trailer.
