Hey, I'm looking to put a hitch on my new 2026 Equinox. I plan to mainly use it for hauling bikes and some cargo in one of those trays, but I might occasionally tow a small utility trailer. What do you have?

Hey Sam, thanks for all of the information!

I used to own an Equinox, and from personal experience I recommend using the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e59ZR. The hidden crosstube feature is pretty standard for hitches nowadays, but what really stood out to me about this hitch is the matte black finish. It looked tough, but also blended in really well with my bumper so it wasn't an eyesore when I wasn't using it.

We haven't had a chance to install this on a 2026 model yet, but Ryan was able to shoot a video of it on a 2024 model so I'm linking his video as well as a photo of the finished installation for you to check out!

If you don't already have a bike rack and cargo carrier then I recommend picking up the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR and the Flint Hill Goods 22" x 49" Cargo Carrier # FHG27ZR. I like thse options because they are easy to use and give you a solid quality without hefting a premium price.
