Could Trailer Hub/Drum be Used As Spare In Place of Idler Hub
Published 12/03/2024 >
Question:
I have a tandem axle trailer. One axle has breaks and the other does not. If I carry one spare hub and drum assembly, could I use it to repair both axles?

Hey Oakley, this is a great question and one that I've not had before. But yes you can use a hub/drum in place of an idler for a spare setup if needed. The hub/drums and the idler hubs are dimensionally the exact same in terms of the hub portion so you wouldn't have any backspacing issues or anything.
