Can The Round Pipe Mount Swivel Jack TJP-5001S-B Be Operated By A Power Drill?

Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 12/02/2024

Question:

Do you happen to sell any parts that would convert the crank handle to a hex nut shaft, so that the jack could be operated by a drill+socket?

Hello Evan, thanks for reaching out. Sadly, the Round, Pipe Mount Swivel Jack # TJP-5001S-B does not have any kind of provision for operating with a drill. For that jack it will be the hand crank only.

If you are looking for a jack that can be operated by a drill take a look at the Trailer Valet JXS Drill Powered Swivel Trailer Jack w/ Footplate # TV64FR. This has a 5,000 lb capacity and includes an adapter that allows the jack to be used with a cordless non-impact drill.

Hey Evan, did the Trailer Valet drill-powered jack end up working for your setup? Knowing how it performed could help others thinking about switching from a hand crank to a drill option.

@JesseM Thanks it looks like it would have worked but it was too pricey for me. But I was able to remove my existing crank handle and replace it with a standard 1/2 inch bolt with a hole drilled in it for the roll pin to achieve the same thing.

@Evan That’s the way to do it, Evan. No need to drop big money if a 1/2-inch bolt and a drill can do the same thing. Love a good low-buck fix that works.
