Adapter Needed To Connect The Curt Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit # C96JR To A 6-Pole Socket

Published 11/29/2024

Question:

I am looking for the kit to install in my 2024 Gladiator to flat two behind my RV. I use a 6 pin connector to connect my 2016 fleetwood pace arrow to a 6 pin connector on my 2022 ford bronco. These signals are separate RV to separate tow vehicle - meaning one wire for each turn signal, a wire for the brakes, a wire for the running lights, etc. We used 6 diodes to install this and had to splice it in. I noticed the Curt Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles Part Number: C96JR that means it just plugs in - and supposedly it works for my gladiator. But it only has a 4 pin connector to mate with the RV. Its late and Im tired, so I figured Id ask instead. Which signals would be transferred to the tow vehicle? Would it be running lights, turn signals, and brakes? Do I have to wire the tow vehicle connector to match the RV to tow vehicle wiring harness or are those standard? I have the connectors on my RV, on the umbilical I currently use, and the Bronco mapped to make sure I got it right - am I making this more complicated than it needs to be? Thanks.

Hi Kerri,

With the Curt Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # C96JR as is you would need an adapter like the # PK12717 to go from your 6-pin socket to its 4-pin connector. This adapter would combine the separate signals coming from the motorhome and run the signals out to your Gladiator's tail lights.
