Can Roadmaster Smart DiodeKit Install on 2019 Chevy Spark Without Lifting Vehicle

Question:

How would I install this kit on a 2019 Chevy Spark without a vehicle lift? The car is very low to the ground and almost impossible to route the wires underneath. Thanks

Hi Marc; I would expect to lift the vehicle to route the # RM26FR wiring on your 2019 Chevy Spark just like we did in the installation video attached below. You can use a jack and jack stands or take it somewhere with a lift for installation.

Hey Marc, were you able to get the wiring for your Chevy Spark routed using a jack and stands or did you end up taking it somewhere with a lift? Knowing what worked could help others with low-clearance cars facing the same challenge.

@RobinH well, I was able to get the wiring and install complete without jacking up the vehicle or using a lift, but I would not recommend it unless you are very thin! It took a full afternoon to shimmy around under the Spark and run the wires. We were a bit pressed for time, but in hindsight, finding a local auto shop and renting time on a lift (if that is such a thing) would have turned a 3-4 hr job into a 45 min experience.

@Marc I get it, I’ve muscled through jobs like that too, and it’s always clear afterward that a lift would’ve saved a lot of time (and crawling). Glad you were able to finish it, and your experience is a good heads-up for the next person tackling a Spark.
