This harness includes a powered converter that draws power directly from the vehicle battery instead of the factory light circuits. That means even if your trailer wiring shorts out, your vehicle’s lights stay protected. Once connected, the 4-flat plug gives you everything you need for running lights, turn signals, and brake lights on most small and mid-size trailers. Installing this Curt harness doesn’t require any ECU flashing or reprogramming. It simply reads your tail light signals and sends power to the trailer lights when those signals are active. Great Hitch, it help me a lot with moving my trailer, moving my power equipment. From place to place. Very strong Hitch and easy installation.
Product connected with no issues, other than having to run the power cord all the way from the back of the car to the battery in front. The connectors for connecting the wires together are cheaply made. Had to buy new ones from local auto parts store to connect the fuse holder to the battery.

Seemed to work good with the aid of a YouTube video. Good product. Wish the vehicle would have come equipped already with the wire to the battery. It’s a pain to run that up.
Straight forward install for the C45FV when combined with the C33MJ hitch on 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid. Followed directions as provided. I went online so I could see colored pictures which made install a bit easier. One change I did made was the use of zip ties to attach the portions of the bumper support removed to the hitch. Zip ties keep the rear bumper from rattling over rough roads and are not visible unless you crawl under the vehicle. C45FV wiring was used with the C33MJ and was also an easy install. Total install time for both was about an hour including unpacking and reading directions. The power connection for the C45FV was made at the rear passenger 150A power connection that attaches to the bus bar/fuse box that is connected to the battery in the rear passenger wheel well.
The kit seems to be a professionally tailored unit to the Mazda CX50 with everything I need. Can't wait to get it installed. Thank you for engineering a great product!
All parts are in the kit except for a single 8mm nut and star washer needed to land the power wire at the battery 'bus' that Mazda provides with their vehicles. In the trunk, most trim must be disassembled to allow the sidewall trim to be loosened only enough to reach behind, access the taillight connectors, and stick the controller to the frame just under the driver-side taillight connector. All is well, though rarely easy.

Very easy installation, except for running power wire up to battery.

Straight forward install. If you have a hybrid it's extremely easy because the battery is located in the rear of the car and not in the engine bay.
Easy to install and still working after a year
Much easier to install the wiring on the CX50 hybrid vs the gas model because the battery is in the back of the car.
Excellent video . Easy to follow . All worked as shown. One pin of the right signal was bent and didn’t work. I straightened it out with a small dental pick and needle nose pliers and she works !!
Thanks to the install video everything worked out great. I wouldn't have tackled this without the video but it was explained exactly how this came apart for access and plug and play wiring made it simple. Took time to route power to battery and everything else involed for the project but wasn't overly hard to do.
It took a while to snake the power wire to the battery because you have to take down shields to then run the wire up the length of the car.

The unit looks like an excellent fix for my needs. The plug and play is what I like about the unit. If the price was 20 bucks cheaper, it would make my wallet feel better. If this is as good as other parts that I have ordered from Etrailer, I will be happy with the final outcome.

It has worked extremely well.
Hitch and wiring harness worked as needed. The install went smooth and the videos were a big help in getting prepared. Using a jack to hold up one side of the hitch while mounting made things a lot easier with only one set of hands.
The packaging problems was evident as there was a large hole in the box that the wiring harness could have easily slipped through. Would recommend at least taping everything to the hitch if sturdier boxes cannot be used.
