Solution For RV Waste Valve With Broken Handle
Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 10/19/2024 >
Question:
The long extension handle for the sewer gate valve on my RV popped out of the socket when I opened the valve. I can put it back in but it will pop out again when I try to open the valve. Is there some remedy for this beside replacing the valve?

Hello John, thanks for getting in touch. You could try sticking the handle back on there with some strong adhesive like gorilla glue or something, but this would be more of a temporary fix. The only permanent solution will be to replace the valve entirely.
We should have a replacement valve for you but I will need to know exactly what type of valve you are needing. For example a common replacement option is the Valterra Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank # T50A which is a standard 3" valve with a T-handle. If this is not exactly what you have, let me know some more specifics, or even email me pictures and I am happy to look into it and make a recommendation.
