Question:

I have a 2014 Forest River R Pod, and I need to replace the existing LaSalle Bristol 1 1/2” gray water outlet valve. My current setup has a 3” drain with a bayonet fitting for a standard 3” sewer hose attached to the 11/2” valve. I cannot find a 1 1/2” to 3” adapter that allows me to replicate my current setup.

Hello Michael,

Thanks for writing in!

Yes, you can recreate the setup you have on your 2014 Forest River R-Pod. You won't find it as one single 1-1/2" to 3" bayonet adapter, but you can put it together with two fittings.

For your 1-1/2" gray water line, you can use the LaSalle Bristol Eccentric Tank Reducer # 34466V153. This takes the 1-1/2" line up to a 3" connection. From there, you can add the Valterra Rotating Adapter # T1028, which gives you the standard 3" bayonet connection for your sewer hose.

If you are also replacing the valve itself, the LaSalle Bristol 1-1/2" Gray Water Waste Valve # 34466N11AB has a 1-1/2" hub on one side and a 1-1/2" spigot on the other. These connections are solvent welded, so you will also need ABS solvent cement like # 3447530889 when putting everything together.

That will let you keep the same style of 3" sewer hose connection you already have rather than changing how you drain your gray tank.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, part # T1028 does not solve the problem. I need a part like T1028 but the outlet end needs to be the male end of a bayonet mount, not the female end that T1028 has since the outlet has to support a cap closure and the female bayonet end of my sewer drain hose. I’ve attached a photo showing my setup.

It looks like you have the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Body for RV Gray Water Tank - Plastic Handle - 1-1/2" Diameter # T1001VP, with a LaSalle Bristol Eccentric Tank Reducer - RV Gray Water - 3" Spigot to 1-1/2" Hub # 34466V153, and then Valterra RV Sewer Termination Adapter - 3" Lug Fitting to 3" Hub # T1029-2, and then topped off with Valterra RV Waste Valve Cap w/ Garden Hose Inlet - 3" - Black # T1020-1VP. Does this look like a better combo?
