Mounting Boat Trailer Guide-Ons to Triton Boat Trailer With Fender Step Extends to Rear of Trailer
Updated 05/28/2014 | Published 05/25/2014 >
Question:
Was looking at trailer pole guideons. I have a triton trailer that has a step on each side of the back, that goes from the wheel wells to the lights. There is no way I can attach the u bolt hardware to the frame of the trailer like normal. Do you have any suggestions for installation?

It sounds like you'll need to do some fab work in order to get the guide-ons to work. I believe your best bet would be to eliminate the u-bolts and have the brackets welded to the top or the underside of the frame member. If the fender step doesn't extend more than 13 inches from the side of the frame member, you can mount to the underside of the frame and the upright portion of the guide-on will clear the step. Otherwise, you'd need to attach to the top of the frame member.
