What Do V1, V2, and V3 Wires of RVS Camera System Do
Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 10/09/2024 >
Question:
I purchased this and it came with a wiring harness that accommodates three cameras, even though the monitor is for two cameras only. Im speaking of the harness that connects the camera cables to the monitor. In addition to the camera hookups on the harness, there are a few individual wires. I know the red one is for power the white one is a ground wire. The other three individual wires are labelled V1 V2 V3. Are these power wires for each camera? Audio wires? The instructions are not clear, at all. If they are power wires for each individual camera, can they be spliced onto the red power line? Thank you

Hey Scott, so yeah the instructions for the Rear View Safety Observation System part # RVS-770614 are pretty bad in terms of wiring but the V1, V2, and V3 wires are power wires for the different cameras. The actual power wires that run to the camera are in the 5 pin harness that runs directly to the camera though. The V wires are where the power is drawn from.

Hey Scott, how did things go with wiring the V1, V2, and V3 leads on your Rear View Safety camera system? Your update could make it easier for the next person sorting through that same harness setup.
