How to Find the Correct Bearing Buddy

Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 09/30/2024

Question:

I have older Bearing Buddies on my boat trailer that I want to replace. How can I be sure that they will fit on my hubs? Do I have to remove the old Buddies to measure? If so, what measurement should I take?

Yes, you do! The easiest way to determine what size Bearing Buddy you need is to measure your hub bore with a digital caliper like item # PTW80157. You will want to measure the inside of the opening down to the third decimal place.

I have linked our selection of Bearing Buddies for you below once you get that measurement you'll be able to find the correct one. If you need any additionally help feel free to email me directly or comment below.

Hey, how did it go measuring the hub bore for your boat trailer’s Bearing Buddies? Once you had that number, were you able to find a set that fit correctly? Your update could make it easier for others replacing older Bearing Buddies too.
