Adapter For Land Rover With 7-Way to Tow Trailer With LED Lights & 4-Way
Updated 01/12/2026 | Published 08/31/2024 >
Question:
I’m in need of a resistive adapter that will allow my 2022 Land Rover Defender 90 with factory hitch and wiring supports either 7 or 4 pin connector to recognize a boat trailer having LED lights and a 4 pin wiring harness. I’d strongly prefer using something that’s known to work successfully with this model Defender. Recommendations?

Hey Patrick,
We do have an adapter that will plug into your Land Rover's 7-way and will allow you to tow your trailer with a 4-way and LEDs, which is the 7-Way to 4-Way/5-Way Trailer Adapter for Vehicles with Lamp-Out Sensors Towing Trailers with LEDs # C35FR.
While not specific to the Defender and we don't have any reviews mentioning a Defender, the # C35FR was made for the exact purpose you're wanting it for

Hey Patrick, how did the adapter work out with your Defender and boat trailer lights? Knowing if it solved the LED recognition issue could really help others towing with the same setup.
