Question:
I brought the recommended wire harness and I though that I plagued it to the right harness- sit above the radio behind a small control panel- fits perfectly and the color matches. as soon as I turn the car on, my dash board lights come on and stay on including my check engine light. what am I doing wrong? please help.

Thank you for providing photos of your vehicle connector.
The Ford F-450 cab and chassis that is the basis for your Class C motor home is used for a range of different vehicle applications and Ford includes a number of roughly similar connectors to handle these different applications.
It is possible that you have connected your brake controller to an incorrect (but indeed very similar-looking) connection port that is intended for a different purpose. I suggest you check again behind the passenger-side dash panel (as illustrated in the linked instructions) for another harness. The correct harness may be tucked in behind other wiring that may have to be temporarily disconnected to allow you to reach it.
Another possibility suggested by my technical contact at Tekonsha is that you might have an incorrect harness. Part # 3034-P is indeed the correct part number, but it is possible that a similar harness that is pinned out differently was sent to you in error by the company from which you purchased it.
