Troubleshooting Anti-Rattle Device of Hollywood Racks Trail Rider that Loosens Up
Updated 08/27/2024 | Published 08/23/2024 >
Question:
I purchased this rack and recently used it on a 350 mile trip. The anti-rattle hitch loosened up and their was a lot of swaying occurred. I did use the flat and star washers and the lock. Other than occasionally stopping and retightening the bolt is there something more required per the installation?

Get John, it sounds like you did everything right but I do have a tip I can share to help get the anti-rattle bolt of the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider part # HR200Z to stay tight. Next time try jiggling/moving the rack around with one hand as you tighten the hitch pin bolt with the other. That typically is the best way to get that last bit of movement out.

I will do that. FYI, I applied more torque when tightening the bolt for my return trip for a better result. Thank you for your response. Please understand that I am very happy with the bike rack purchase.
