Can the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Be Used With Bikes That Have Fenders

Question:

Hi, Looking to install this Kuat SH22B - Sherpa 2.0 bike trailer on a 2016 Dodge Durango Citadel. Both of my bikes have fenders Specialized Crosstrail Elite and Specialized Crux #5 and since this rack has a Front tire ratchet mechanism, I wanted to know if it is compatible with front fender bikes? Thanks.

If you have bikes with fenders then you will want to use a different bike rack, the Swagman Dispatch 2 part # S44FR or Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 part # HR1450Z are two options I like that have a one-piece 2" shank which minimizes rattle. The reason you will have to go with a frame mount like the Dispatch 2 or Sport Rider SE2 is because wheel mount bike racks like the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 part # SH22B won't work with fenders as the hooks sit too far down on the tire and that increases the chance for it to slide off.

The Dispatch 2 and Sport Rider SE2 both come with bike/hitch locks just like the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 and they are not much heavier. They also both have a lifetime warranty and a great reputation for building quality bike racks.
