Question:
will 31014 front hitch fit an 2001 ford excursion and will i need to remove the blocker beam? your write up says this will install behind the blocker beam and no need to remove it. But the picture of the hitch does not look that it will.

We do indeed have a front mounted receiver that's a fit for the 2001 Excursion, part # 65022. The hitch would install directly to the front of the frame members behind the bumper. Installation involves removing the bumper, and sandwiching the hitch in between the frame members and the bumper as shown in the instructions I've linked. If your Expedition is equipped with the OEM foglights, they'll need to be relocated or removed for the receiver to fit.
The Curt # C31014 front mounted receiver you mention is a fit for the 1999-2003 F350 and F350, but because the bumper structure of the Excursion is different, it will not fit the Excursion. I have confirmed this with Curt. Per Curt, the Excursion shouldn't have the blocker beam you mention.
