Trailer Hitch For A 2016 Land Rover Range Rover HSE Td6

Updated 01/20/2026 | Published 08/08/2024

Question:

Hello. I need a tow hitch for my 2016 Range Rover HSE Td6. It is NOT a sport. You had a hitch a couple months ago but now I can’t find it. Is it still available? I need to tow 4000 lbs. Thanks, Evan

Hello Evan. We do offer one tow hitch for the 2016 Range Rover, the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # SH46GR. The stealth hitch is great because it has a removable receiver, so you can keep a nice clean factory look for the rear of your vehicle. The hitch itself is rated for towing up to 8,000 lbs so more than enough for your 4,000 lb trailer. This kit also includes the wiring harness custom fitted for your 2016 Range Rover. I have linked our install video for you below.

Hey Evan, how did the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch work out on your Range Rover? Did the removable receiver give you the clean look you were hoping for? Your feedback could really help others looking for a similar setup.

@JesseM, the hitch wasn't too difficult to install but did take some time. Directions were good. The receiver block was just a tad large and wouldn’t slide in between its mounting points. I had to use my angle grinder with a flapper wheel to sand off a very small amount to get it in. I still had to use a mallet to get it in. One other issue, the part that has your tow ball in it, it locks into the receiver block. That tends to wiggle loose as your towing. I contacted the manufacturer and they weren’t too concerned. It can’t ever come out because the design locks it in but it just doesn’t stay tight. I like that it is very easy to use and I do like that it hides so easily. I would recommend this hitch but I wish it didn’t wiggle loose. It seems that over a lot of miles it could become an issue due to wear.

@EvanC Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed review, we really appreciate it! Glad to hear the install ultimately went well and that the instructions were helpful. With hidden-style hitches like this, a tight fit at the receiver block is fairly common and usually intentional, but you handled it and got it done. As for the ball mount play, a small amount of movement can happen with this style of locking design, especially under load, and it’s good that you reached out to the manufacturer directly. They are right it's designed so it can't come out once locked, but I definitely understand how that movement can be concerning. Keeping an eye on it, especially after long trips, is smart, and if you notice the play increasing with wear, a warranty claim would definitely be worth pursuing. Thanks again for the honest feedback, it’s helpful for other customers considering this hitch. Let me know if you ever need anything down the road!
