Can I Use A Wheel Mount Bike Rack With A Trek Verve 3 E-Bike With Front Fenders?

Question:
I uploaded a picture of a Trek Verve 3, which has no top tube. I noticed in a comment, that it’s recommended to take off front fenders. Im wondering if that would be the recommendation for this Trek Verve 3, electric bike?

Hello Frank, thanks for the picture. In order to use a wheel mount bike rack like the Yakima HoldUp # Y02443, yes, I do recommend removing the front fender. The fender will be directly in the way of the anchor point. The fender is not a secure anchor point. The ratcheting hook needs to be in contact with the tire.
