What Is the Extension of the HLY98RR and RKY10007 When Folded?

Updated 06/24/2026 | Published 06/21/2026

Question:

Between the Hollywood Racks CrossTrack for one bike and the RockyMounts Monorail Solo, which one sticks out from the back of the truck the least when folded up? I have a very tight garage and I need to be able to shut the garage door with the rack installed. I have 2022 Nissan Frontier with a hitch receiver I bought from etrailer a few years ago. I have maybe a foot of space for the rack. Thank you.

Hi Robert,

I took a look at the dimensions for the RockyMounts Monorail Solo part # RKY10007 and based off its measurements it'll stick out too far when folded up to fit within the foot of space that you have between your truck and garage door. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest part of the rack when folded up is 17 1/2", which exceeds the amount of space that you have available.

Thankfully, the Hollywood Racks CrossTrack Bike Rack part # HLY98RR has a measurement of 10 1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest part of the bike rack when it's folded up so it would just barely fit in the 1ft of space you have. I'd remeasure how much space you have from the hitch pin hole to the garage door to double check that you have enough space for the Hollywood Rack part # HLY98RR just in case. The # HLY98RR can hold one bike weighing up to 66lbs and up to 4" wide tires, so it can handle any e-bike or heavy mountain bike you throw at it.

What kind of bike do you ride most?
