Features to know about

Add More Capability for Everyday Use: Class I 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver

This Curt trailer hitch receiver is made for light-duty towing and everyday attachments. With a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening, it handles up to 2,000 lbs of gross trailer weight and 200 lbs of tongue weight. That’s enough for a small utility trailer, cargo basket, or a two-bike rack. The Class I rating keeps it straightforward and simple—strong enough for daily gear without being oversized.

Install It Yourself Without the Hassle: Bolt-On, No Welding Required

You don’t need a lift or special tools to get this hitch on. It bolts up using the included hardware and aligns with existing mounting points, so there’s no welding involved. The precision, robotic welding gives you a solid fit and makes alignment easier during install. Once it’s torqued down, you’re ready to hook up a drawbar, bike rack, or cargo carrier.

Built to Last Through the Elements: Fully Welded Steel and Gloss Black Powder Coat

The hitch body is fully welded steel with a gloss black powder coat finish over a protective base layer. That combination helps fight off rust and corrosion so it keeps its strength and clean look over time. The square-tube design gives it a sturdy feel and sits neatly under the bumper for a tidy appearance.

Set Up Your Towing Gear: Works with Standard Accessories

This receiver works with standard 1-1/4" hitch accessories like drawbars, pins, and clips (sold separately). Add what you need for towing—whether that’s a small camper, lightweight trailer, or just hauling extra gear for the weekend—and keep your setup compact and reliable at all times.

Quality product. All hardware needed was supplied and instructions were easy to understand. I use it for bike transportation which requires a strap to the front of the trunk lid. I've used it for thousands of miles without any issues. Vehicle is a 2013 Nissan Altima.

by:

Easy to install with minimum labour and experience. handle my boat trailer adequately.

by:

Your install video was accurate and very helpful. The fit was good.

by:

This was an excellent part. Easy installation. Sturdy design. Primarily used for a bike rack

by:

pretty easy to install. No drilling, just enlarging existing holes. They did send me the wrong instructions but i was able to find the correct ones easily . this is my 3d hitch install. I really like this company!

by:

The video installation instructions gave me the confidence to install the receiver myself and it went exactly as expected. Shipping was fast and the receiver appears to be of great quality. Now we can take the bikes with car and don't have to use the truck.

by:

IT FITS WELL. I would recommend 4 fish wires to hold your bolts in place while mounting the hitch. also the bolts are about 1/8" short to even make the last thread of the nut.

by:

The hitch went on just fine. If I have anything negative to say about the components is that the 4 bolts that were supplied with the kit could have been 1/8-1/4" longer. When fully torqued there was still 1-1/2 threads left unused in the mounting nuts. Why not go for full thread engagement? It is only stronger & there was nothing that would've been interfered with by a slightly longer bolt protruding from the nut.

by:

Love the product. We followed the instructions and it was easy. We did add a very small procedure and that was to put one drop of superglue between the bolt and the plate because when we were putting the hitch up onto the bolt we were pushing the bolt up into the rail. 1 drop of superglue held the bolt and plate together so it had some weight dropping through the hitch. Product and instructions were great. I would also rank customer support at a 10 out of 5, better than I could imaging before I bought the product and even after I bought with so many people checking in with me making sure everything was ok.

by:

It fit great!

by:

This hitch is great! I have had no issues with the operation of the hitch and use to haul camping gear and also have a hitch bike rack that carries my mountain bike.

I will say that the carriage bolts that came with the hitch are much too short, you get about 2 threads of engagement to on the nuts, I had to go buy 4 longer carriage bolts and then cut them to the length with an angle grinder.

by:

Fast delivery

by:

I like that etrailer had a selection of hitches for me to choose from. Product came as described, instructions were complete, durability seems fine. Etrailers installation videos are spot-on, and very helpful. Phone contact with customer service was very positive, like walking into an auto parts store with friendly and helpful Parts staff. I refer people to etrailer when and where I can with no hesitation.

by:

Easy to install except for exhaust joints being completely rusted together lol

by:

Fast reliable and easy to install been fishing with my Altima 2009 because diesal in California is insanely high. Worth it! Love it will order from them for all my trailer needs! Thank you etrailer

by:

Hitch arrived in excellent condition. Still pending install but all looks good and simple to complete the install process. Thanks for the quick delivery, too.

by:

Fit perfectly

by:

Install was fairly straight forward. A second pair of hands was helpful when threading the nuts to the carriage bolts so that the bolts weren't accidently pushed up into the frame. The etrailer install video was good.

by:

The product fit perfectly on my 2018 Nissan Altima SV. The only bit I can add is I used a hard plastic cup, cut into circles, with a hole drilled in the middle of each, to use as holders for the carriage bolt so it would not push into the frame when putting on the Receiver.

by:

Great product, easy installation. Been a year in NY and no rust or corrosion has started.

by:

Well, I ordered the same hitch from another online retailer, we know which one, and it was delivered slightly out of alignment. It would not fit my 2017 Nissan Altima. I returned it and ordered another. Same issue but this time it was even worse, mounting arms visually bent. I found this hitch on etrailer.com and was able to actually talk to a real person who listened to my saga and helped get a hitch shipped to me that was perfect. I installed it and everything worked out well. Thanks y'all!

by:

I've put this hitch on a 2017 and 2023 Altima. Shipping box arrived in good shape. Improved packaging kept the hitch from bouncing around in the box. Did the install by myself, in my garage, working off the floor. Your videos showing use of a step bit to enlarge one hole on each side was not my experience. It could have been a dull bit that I borrowed from a neighbor. I used a cutoff wheel on a 4.5 inch angle grinder with good results (much faster, anyhow). BTW, I also installed the powered Curt wiring to save the small gage wires used for the car LED lights. DAN

by:

Took a little over an hour to install with most of the time spent loosening the nuts to remove the rear mufflers. I followed the manufacturer instructions and enlarged one of the existing frame holes with a step bit, rather than drilling another access hole. It worked great.
This hitch fits perfectly on my 2017 Maxima and is tucked in just right for my bike rack.
I strongly recommend the product.

by:

Very nice receiver. I like that you don't have to put holes into the trunk of your car to install this like other receivers. Fits nicely on the 2019 and newer Nissan Altima's. Due to the car being low, the receiver is a bit low as well. Would need to make sure the bike rack has an upward rake to prevent any problems with hitting the road when going over bumps. Only problem I had was there were two scratches on the receiver. Not bad enough to send back. Cheaper to touch up the non painted surface of the scratch.

by:

Easy install. Directions good. Worked good. Installed 2016 Nissan Altima. Pulled a small camper trailer through Colorado to Grand Canyon and back.

  • How To Carry Two 50 lb Mountain Bikes With A 2017 Nissan Maxima
Hello Mark, thanks for reaching out. The only way to carry two 50 lb mountain bikes with your 2017 Nissan Maxima will be to install a trailer hitch, and use a hitch mounted platform bike rack. Trunk mount bike racks are just not strong enough to carry 50 lb bikes. The highest per-bike weight capacity for a trunk rack is 35 lbs. So even if you were to Saris Bones EX 3 and do only two bikes on it, you would still be over the 35 lb per bike limit which would be highly unsafe and dangerous....

  • Trailer Hitch for 2013 Nissan Altima Sedan that Does Not Require Drilling to Install
The Curt # C11352 and Draw-Tite # 24796 require drilling in order to install on a 2013 Altima sedan. If you're needing the hitch as an attachment point for a bike rack or other hitch mounted accessory, I'd recommend the Draw-Tite # 24796. If your owner's manual or Nissan says it's okay to tow with your Altima, you might also need the following: A ball mount Trailer wiring harness, part # 118470 2 inch trailer ball, part # 19258 1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19256 Locking hitch pin,...

  • Trailer Hitch Needed For Hauling A Mobility Scooter On A 2018 Nissan Altima
Hi John, The only hitch compatible with your 2018 Nissan Altima is going to be the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11352. Since this is a class 1 hitch with only a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening and 200lb tongue weight capacity you likely wouldn't be able to find a scooter and carrier that would fall within the hitch's weight capacity, which is why the VA told you to get a different vehicle. Do you know what the weight of the scooter will be?

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2016 Nissan Altima
Currently we only have 1-1/4" trailer hitch receivers for your 2016 Nissan Altima. I recommend the Curt # C11352 over the Draw-Tite # 24796 which I see you found. I prefer the Curt as they have added gussets for strength where the mounting flanges bend to attach to the frame. I recommend installing the 4-Way # C56339 when you install the receiver. This will allow you to connect to most small trailers you might tow and also for Auxiliary Lights # C53201 on a hitch mounted accessory such...

It is slightly taller than your desired rise. But once the trailer is hooked up, the weight will bring it down closer to that 3.5 inch you were looking for. Also, this drawbar is a Class I which suits your hitch. We have a review video for this product that I've included. You could use a Class II drawbar with your Class I hitch since...

  • Recommended Euro-Style Ball Mount for a 2015 Nissan Altima with Curt Class I Trailer Hitch
The recommended 2 inch Euro style ball mount for Curt trailer hitch # C11352 on a 2015 Nissan Altima is # C45572. I went out to the warehouse and pulled one to take some measurements. From the center of the pin hole to the part of the shank where it starts to bend up is 3 inches. This will work because the rear bumper on the Altima tapers upward above the hitch receiver. At 6-1/2 inches out from the center of the hitch pin hole, where the shank starts to bend straight up, it is at a height...

  • Removing Exhaust Heat Shield When Installing Curt Class I Hitch on 2013 Nissan Altima
As you can see in the photo I assembled from captured images from the install video, the mounting flange of the hitch provides as much heat protection as the heat shield that is removed and discarded. The steel of the hitch mounting flange is much thicker than that of the heat shield. I checked with my contact in the engineering department at Curt Manufacturing, who assured me that the mounting flange will offer enough heat protection that a fire hazard will not exist.

When it comes to installing a trailer hitch onto your 2022 Nissan Altima the Curt Hitch # C11352 and The Draw-Tite Hitch # 24796 are your two options. Both hitches have a similar installation process but I would recommend The Draw-Tite Hitch # 24796 to have the easiest installation because you do not have to permanently remove the heat shield for the hitch installation like you do on the Curt Hitch.
