What Does it Mean When Vehicle Suspension Still Sags After Install of Air Bag Kit

Updated 07/29/2024 | Published 07/27/2024

Question:

I have a 2021 Jeep gladiator Rubicon, I put the fire stone airbags on it to pull heavy trailers and they seem to be OK to a point but I still have a lot of rear in sag when I about 600 pounds of tongue weight on it. My question is my average tongue weight is 500 to 600 pounds what would I need, the yellow or the black sumo helper Springs, I’ll pull a trailer at least twice a week thanks. .

So it actually sounds like you are overloading your vehicle unfortunately. If the air bags can't prevent the sag that his a really good indicator. Also I checked the tongue weight capacities of the hitches that fit your vehicle and they are right around 500 lbs so 600 would be over that and these kits aren't designed to give additional capacity beyond what the vehicle is rated for.

Factory specs on Gladiator Rubicon with the OEM hitch is 6500 towing and 650 TW with auto tranny. Handles fairly well with the equalizer weight distribution hitch I have. Just thought it might handle little better with the bump stops

@2021T On the OEM hitch is there a weight distribution rating listed? That might be your best option if so.
