Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2018 Toyota RAV4

Question:

I need to install trailer hitch on one of my small SUVs to haul a small sailboat. Total weight of the trailer and boat is about 400-lb. I have a 2016 Honda CRV and a 2018 Toyota RAV4. Can you recommend which car I should put the trailer hitch on? And what hitches would you recommend? Thanks.

Hey John, both of the vehicles you have would be about the same as far as towing your small trailer but since the RAV4 has a slightly better towing capacity that would be what I would go with. So for a hitch the Curt hitch part # C13406 would be a really great option that is mostly hidden and has plenty of capacity.

For trailer wiring the Tekonsha part # 118578 would be what I would recommend as well as it is the most reliable and has an easy install.
