Can Voyager Monitor be Used as Both Backup Guide and Rear View Mirror
Updated 07/03/2024 | Published 06/26/2024 >
Question:
I want to use this monitor as a rearview mirror to see out of the back of my panel van with no windows. I want to see behind me, as Im driving down the road, the same way I do with a normal rear-view mirror. But I also want to use it as a backup camera too. The product description makes it unclear if this product is really for both functions. It seems to be only to be used as a backup camera while in reverse and for the purpose of hooking up to a trailer. Can it be used as a normal rearview mirror too? Will the camera lens properly view vehicles well behind me instead of being optically optimized for close-up backup use only? Ideally, I want to use it for backing up, normal rear view driving use and also to see on the passenger side as Im driving again no windows in my E-series van. I would also like to use those same cameras it says up to 3 to monitor whats going on outside while Im parked its a camper van. Can the 3 camera signals be split to go to two monitors? One in the back and one in the rear view mirror position?

Hey Shawn, so the part # VOM74MM that you referenced is just the monitor and does not include a camera but I can say that it really just depends on the angle of the camera that you mount what you will see and how useful the monitor and camera will be in different scenarios.
