Question:
2017 Keystone Cougar 279RSKWE fifth wheel 30 Fifth wheel is a bit lower than my truck and does not ride level. Leaf springs need to be replaced, currently 4 leaf and look to be about 25.75inch eye to eye while on the fifth wheel. Is there any type of replacement spring that might lift it a bit or some other method or should I just replace them with whatever you recommend and hope it lifts up a bit. Thank You

Hey Mike,
To replace your leaf springs you'll need to jack up the trailer by the frame to relieve the pressure on the leaf springs and then measure from center to center of the eyelet. We'll also need to know the axle capacity to ensure the springs are properly rated for the weight of the trailer. There should be a sticker on the axle that lists this, if not then measure the diameter of the axle tube.
If the springs have flattened out over time that can cause the trailer to sit lower. If you're needing to lift the trailer to help it ride level then we also offer conversion kits to move the leaf springs from below the axle to on top of it to increase the height. For 2-3/8" axle tube diameters you'll need part # K71-384-00 and for 3" diameter axle tubes you'll need part # K71-385-00.
