What is Range of Travel For Firestone Automatic Height-Control Valve
Updated 02/17/2026 | Published 06/21/2024 >
Question:
What is the total range of travel? I am wanting to use with Firestone bags and cradles so the bag isn’t attached to the axle. To allow the axle to droop In off-road situations. I’m concerned that the travel of these brackets may not be long enough.

Hi Kenneth,
I reached out to Firestone for you regarding the range of travel on the Automatic, Single-Gauge Pneumatic Height-Control Valve # F2186, and they told me the leveling arm can travel 3 inches and will start leveling once the arm moves 1/2 inch.

Hey Kenneth, did the 3 inches of travel on the Firestone height-control valve give you enough axle droop for your off-road setup? Knowing how it worked with your bags and cradles could help others planning a similar build.
