Replacement 12" Electric Brakes for 7K Axles Using ABS Sensors

Question:

Needing a set of 12" electric drum brakes for 7,000 lb axle but the need to have the holes in the backing plate for ABS. Please let me know what you have. The strange thing is is that he had one replaced on the right hand side on the highway and it says 023-106-00 on it.

Hey Buddy, thanks for reaching out and providing the photos!

The part number you gave me means that you can use the Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes # 23-105-106 as an exact replacement for what was used as a replacement on the highway, but you'll need to modify the backing plate for the ABS sensor.

This kit is rated for 6,000 lbs so if you're wanting to match the weight rating of your axle I recommend using the etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-7-SA instead. These are rated for up to 7K axles plus they have the self-adjusting feature so they require less maintenance. You will need to modify the backing plate for these as well.
