Features to know about

Replace the Whole Brake Assembly, Not Each Small Part

When a brake assembly is worn out, rebuilding individual brake parts can turn into extra time under the trailer. This right-hand assembly gives your compatible heavy-duty trailer axle a complete brake assembly replacement, keeping the repair focused on swapping the assembly instead of chasing separate internal components.

Self-Adjusting Brakes Cut Down on Manual Adjustment

Manual brake adjustments are one of those trailer jobs most owners would rather not repeat. This self-adjusting design maintains proper brake adjustment as components wear, which keeps your braking performance more consistent and eliminates the need to crawl back under the trailer for manual brake adjustments.

Confirm the Axle Fit Before Teardown

Brake fit matters before the old assembly comes off. This assembly is for the right hand, or passenger's side, and matches 12" diameter x 2" wide brakes with a 5 bolt mounting flange pattern on 5,200 lbs to 7,000 lbs axles. This will also work with 8,000 lbs hybrid axles (does not fit standard 8,000 lb axles). The assembly is compatible with Lippert ABS braking systems but can also be used on trailers without ABS. Mounting bolts and hardware are not included, so your install plan needs to account for those before the trailer's apart.

Do You Need Both Sides? There's a Kit for That

If you're replacing both brake assemblies at the same time, you don't have to hunt for each side separately. We offer a kit with both the right-hand and left-hand assemblies (LC89MP), which keeps the paired brake setup easier to order.

Video Transcript for Review of Lippert Trailer Brakes - Electric Drum Brakes - LC52VP

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Let's take a look at this Lippert Electric ABS trailer brake assembly. Folks, this is going to be a self-adjusting 12 inch right hand assembly and this is for the 5,200 to 8,000 pound trailer axle ratings. Now folks, again, this is a self-adjusting design for those Lippert ABS equipped systems and you have the self-adjusting cable assembly and everything here. Again, this is a 12 inch diameter by two inch wide brake assembly.

As you can see, you got the five, excuse me, the five replacement nuts with the lock washer built in and the two electric connectors for the electrical wiring here. So brakes, pretty standard stuff. I think we've all seen them. You got the adjustments plugged right here that come with it. Again, you should need to adjust this self-adjusting.

Once you kind of get the brakes broken in from that break-in period, you should be good to go and you can follow the instructions for all those answers. And we have some literature on them here at etrailer as well. Again, this is the right-hand assembly. We do carry the matching left-hand assembly sold separately and that's item number LC73RP if you need that. I do recommend that you replace these in pairs much like suspension.

You want your trailer parts to all be on the same kind of page. You want them all working in tandem. You don't want an old one working and fighting a new one or vice versa. So that's my recommendation, pay it for what it's worth. Again, this is the right-hand assembly by Lippert for their electric ABS trailer brake assembly.

I'm Steve with the etrailer. Thanks for watching.

They didn't fit my axle. Customer support was extremely helpful with a return. I needed the brake for the post 2009.

The brakes that I ordered arrived on time. And it was the correct product as advertised. If you’re needing ABS drilled brakes for a fifth wheel RV, I highly recommend Etrailer.

Perfect fit for my Lippert 7k axles. The passenger side was worse than the driver's side. Wires were cut on both on passenger side. One of the passenger side completely fell apart when I removed the drum wit one lone spring still hanging on. While the driver's side only needed shoes, I decided to order new for that side also. That gave me self adjusting housings all around. Very pleased!!
