Can I Install An Aftermarket Hitch On A 2010 Toyota Tacoma With Factory Installed Hitch?
Updated 06/19/2024 | Published 06/12/2024 >
Question:
I am looking for a class III hitch for a 2010 Tacoma that I just bought. I believe the rusted hitch that is on it probably came from the factory. The hits that come up on your website all say the hitches will not fit if I have a factory hitch. What makes them not fit, and is there a reasonable alternative that I am just not seeing? Thanks. Hello Denny, great question. It is possible to install our etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e98850 on a 2010 Toyota Tacoma with the factory installed hitch. According to my research, the factory hitch mounts using the bumper brackets. So, if you remove the factory hitch you will need to find brackets for the bumper. Once you do this you can install the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e98850.
