Using B&W Companion Slider on 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 & 2024 Ram 2500 With OEM Puck Systems

Have 2 Trucks 2024 Chevy 2500 with Puck System and 2024 Ram 2500 with Puck system. Both will be used to pull a new 5th Wheel. We want to do the Companion OEM SLider. So do we each buy a base to fit our OEM Puck and then buy 1 Companion 5th Wheel head? Will head work on both bases?

Hey Henry,

The B&W Companion 5th wheel head # BWRVC3006 does fit the bases for the Companion slider hitches for the 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 and for the 2024 Ram 2500. So what I'd do is just buy the full hitch for one truck and then the base for the other truck. So one of the following:

- B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3775 with Replacement Slider Base - Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVB3670

OR

- B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider for Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3670 with Replacement Slider Base - Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # BWRVB3775

Yes, the puck system used on the 2016-2019 Chevy/GMC trucks is different than the pucks used on the 2020 and newer trucks. So you would need a 5th wheel like the B&W Companion #BWRVK3710 for your 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 with an 8' Bed. If you…

The Patriot fifth wheel heads and the Companion hitch heads are different enough that they are not interchangeable. If you need a Companion head you'd want the part #BWRVC3006 or if you want a Patriot hitch head you'd want the #BWRVC3200.
