Hey Pete welcome back! If your customer has a spare wheel on his 2022 F-150 that is 18" or smaller he will want to go with our etrailer Hitch item # e63TR. It is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 6,000 lbs towing capacity that can be increased to 10,000 lbs when used with a weight distribution system.

If your customers 2022 F-150 has a larger spare tire he'll want the Draw-Tite item # 76136 because it will fit back underneath the truck once the hitch is installed. It has an identical towing capacity along with a 2" receiver.

For a brake controller, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness item # RED52VR. There is no plug in adapter for this model. I really like Tow-Pro Liberty because the only portion of the brake controller that is visible after install is the control knob. The rest can be hidden away behind the dash. This is a proportional brake controller.

Since your customer does not have a factory 7-way you're going to need two separate wiring harness, assuming he doesn't have a 4-way either. There are no custom fit plug in options so you'll need to wire both of them in. I have listed the parts you will need below:

4-Way Connector - 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector w/ 72" Harness, Circuit Tester and Wire Taps item # 18252

7-Way Connector - Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat item # ETBC7
