Question:
I am trying to determine which transmission cooler is right for my truck. I have a 2008 GMC Yukon XL 5.3L. During the summer I tow a boat that weighs about 3700lbs and in the winter I tow an enclosed trailer that ways about 7500lbs. The issue is I live in the heat and during the summer regularly see ambient temps of 100 plus during the summer. My transmission will run about 225 and have gone up to 232 which I am not fan of it being that high. Towing in the winter with the enclosed trailer I see similar temps and again would like to lower them. Any advice on a transmission cooler would be greatly appreciated,

Hey Sam, I would recommend the Derale transmission cooler part # D13504 with the radiator adapter part # D13035 for your 2008 GMC Yukon XL with the 5.3 liter. This is a larger cooler that is the efficient plate fin design that we know works great on your Yukon and will make a noticeable improvement in your transmission fluid temps. Just be sure to install it AFTER your factory cooler to get the most cooling power.
