Question:

Hello, I have a 2500 gmc which I believe is 5th wheel ready. Is there any kind of a system/adapter I could use to attach a winch to the 5th wheel mounting area. Not sure if such a thing exists or if you can reccomended something. Thank you

Hey Tim, that is actually a really good idea. Unfortunately, there is no aftermarket product made for attaching a winch to the 5th wheel puck system in your GMC truck.

There are rail adapters that fit into the puck system though. Your best option would be to take one of these adapters, like the Curt # C88KR and have someone weld/fabricate a winch mount to fit on top of the rails. With no aftermarket products available, making your own will be the only option.

Just keep in mind, this is not what the Curt # C88KR was designed for, so we cant really guarantee the weight rating of this setup and this kind of modification will void any warranty. Also note that the # C88KR will fit the puck system in GMC trucks 2020-2024.

Aside from that, another option would be to simply go with a hitch mounted winch plate, like the Curt # C31010 which installs into any 2" hitch receiver.
