Air Lift Air Springs for 1956 Buick Special

Updated 05/31/2024 | Published 05/27/2024

Question:

I have a 1956 Buick special that has air lifts inside of the coil springs. The bags are red and one will not hold air. Question, do you still make a system that will fit my car,? I do not want a deluxe kit, only two bags and some and some hose and whatever is needed.

I'm sure you have one of the Air Lift 1000 Universal Air Spring Kits like # AL60920 on your 1956 Buick Special. I don't think there would be a good way to identify the old ones so you can take the standard measurements to find the right replacement.

First, unload your vehicle to make sure it's at normal ride height. Then, measure the inside height of your coil spring, which will be from the upper spring seat to the lower spring seat. Lastly, measure the inside diameter of the spring at its widest point. Once you have these measurements, use the table below to find the correct kit by matching up your diameter and height values. Once you have the part number for the kit you need you can plug it into our search to find it.
