Ramp Door Spring Recommendation for 200 lb 90" Wide Door

Question:

I need a trailer ramp door spring for a 2018 Lark cargo trailer. 20foot x 8 The trailer model VT8x20TA. The ramp door measures 90x74. Im guessing the door weighs 200lbs. It has 3/4inch plywood base. Can you tell me which ramp spring model I need to purchase?

Hey Rick, thanks for reaching out!

I'm guessing the 90" dimension is the width of your trailer door so for your application I recommend the Conventional Ramp Door Spring # M394FR because it has a 185 lb weight rating. This means that you'll still need to put a little effort into lifting the door, but you'll only be handling 15 lbs of it if your door really does weigh 200 lbs.

We have some higher rated springs but that can be dangerous since the spring can close the door by itself if it's rated higher than the door.
