Hello Chad, thanks for reaching out. Adding a conventional ramp door spring system will definitely help when raising and lowering your ramp door. I definitely recommend doing with a dual spring for maximum support. You will just want to measure your door and make sure it is 8" wide. Also it helps to get an idea of the door weight. The # M394FR spring has a 185 lb capacity so we do want to be sure your door does not exceed this. With it being aluminum I highly doubt it weighs more than 185 lbs but we do want to know the door weight so you can get an appropriately rated spring. Confirm that door weight and width for me in the comments below and I will get back to you.
