Choosing the Correct Replacement Spring for an Enclosed Trailer Ramp Door

Question:
single or dual spring for an enclosed trailer ramp/door? My door is 130lbs. Per a reply, I suppose I am going with 120lbs spring. But single vs double spring??

I'd go with a double spring personally, Scott. These are typically going to be used on more heavy duty applications like your enclosed trailer with a pretty heavy door.
In order to get a proper replacement though, you'd need measure the width of your door and find out the weight of the door at it's heaviest point, which I'd imagine isn't more than 185 lbs, so something like # M394FR should work great but I recommend verifying yourself.

I ask my question bc another person wad responded w something similar and said they should buy a 120lbs spring door. But you're saying I should anticipate the actual weight of the door??

ok, so when I put the trailer ramp/door down on a scale (which reads 130lbs) that is not the weight I am going off of for a door spring??
