1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Kenda Karrier ST145/R12 Load Range D S-Trail Radial Trailer Tire with 12-inch aluminum wheel. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is gonna be ideal for your trailer. This special trailer tire or ST tire has double steel belts and full nylon plies for superior function and long life. The computer-generated tread design and premium rubber compound materials are gonna give you superior traction in wet or dry conditions. So again, this is an ST tire or a special trailer tire, and this is designed for trailers only and not vehicles.
So as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together and as we have stamped here on our tire, this is an ST145/R12. The section width is 5.8 inches, and the outer diameter when fully inflated is 21.4 inches. And this is a load range D, meaning it has an eight-ply rating. The maximum load is 1,220 pounds at 65 psi. And this has a speed rating of M, indicating the maximum speed of 81 miles per hour.
Now, this black aluminum AM01 series wheel is durable. It's lightweight, it's attractive, it's rust proof, and the the clear coat finish on the front and the back is going to protect it from scuffs and scratches. And as you can see here, this features this spoke design here with a machined face, so it's really gonna look great on your trailer. And this also features steel inserts in the lug nut wells to help keep the wheels securely in place on your trailer hub, preventing the holes from wearing down, eliminating the need for constantly retightening your lug nuts. And the dimensions of our wheel, looking at the diameter first, measuring bead seat to bead seat is 12 inches.
And the width of the wheel is four inches. And our bolt pattern is five on 4-1/2 inches. And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes and the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes as we have here, you simply measure from the center of one bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from that first, and you'll get that measurement. The capacity of this wheel is 1,520 pounds.
The wheel stud size is a half an inch by 20. The center cap is sold separately, but if you decide to pick one up, you just wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 3.19 inches. Right out of the box, mark me impressed. These really made my Sea-Doo trailer look finished. They are not much more than the steel spoke wheels with the same tires.

Product is great and its a much safer feeling having the load range D tires and 81mph speed rating vs the original B range and only 65mph speed rating!
