Compatible Axle/Spindle For An etrailer Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-G-2K

Question:

I purchased the hub/bearing assembly AKIHUB-545-2-G-2K at eTrailer, and I am looking for the best axle/spindle kit. Is it compatible with Dexter axle at eTrailer, item e48GR? It looks to me like the bearings match, but the seal does not. Also, can you please confirm the outer seal on this axle. I only see the inner seal referenced.

Hey Greg,

The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-G-2K has a straight spindle so it uses bearing # L44649 for both the inner and outer bearings and grease seal # 10-9. The # e48GR uses # L44649 as well but requires a larger inner diameter grease seal ( # 58846) so it wouldn't be a compatible fit. You would want the etrailer # e43GR instead as it uses the same bearings/seals.

When you say outer seal are you referring to the grease cap? If so the # AKIHUB-545-2-G-2K should have came with one that has a 1.988" diameter to fit the hub bore hole. If you need a replacement you can use # F001518.
