Replacement Bearings and Seals for a Dexter Hub with 8-91A Stamped on Back

Question:
My original hubs are Dexter 8-91 A. However, the original spindles were too thick to slide your L44643 bearings on so I am resorting to your L44649 bearings which must have been on all this time. I have had a great deal of difficulty matching out a grease seal, having tried both your GS 1250 DL and your 13194 which was a tad tight on the inner axle. Grease seal # 10-9 appears to be the way to go. If it is not, what would be the closest alternate as theyre so inexpensive I might order both sizes. Your L44610 races are in and theyre a good fit. Secondly, am I to assume all seal orders come in pairs? Oh, and thirdly, there is mention of a double lip seal version of the 10-9 that I couldnt find on your site #10-60. Would that be preferred? Sorry, no camera. Best regards and Happy Thanksgiving!

If the spindle that was on your trailer axle previously had 8-91A stamped on the back of it your spindle should require inner and outer bearings of # L44649 like you used. The part # 8-91-05UC1 that you referenced would be an exact replacement.
Grease seal # 10-9 is the correct replacement seal also. It has an inner diameter of 1.5 inch and an outer diameter of 1.987.
The double lip version of this that is sold in pairs is our part # RG06-020. # 10-9 is sold individually.
Double lip is preferred as it has a metal spring around the rubber seal that holds it tighter to the spindle. This is a must for marine applications to prevent water from getting in and even for non-marine applications it is preferred.
