Question:

I have a 2023 Renegade Verona and 2020 F-350 Superduty Longbed Diesel. Looking for some advice on best set up to flat tow. The renegade has a 3inch receiver hitch so wondering if any of the tow bars come in a 3inch setup?

Expert Reply:

The Blue Ox Apollo Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7470 is going to be the largest size we have to fit a 2-1/2" receiver. So you will at least need a 3" to 2-1/2" Adapter # C85JR. This will connect to the Base Plate # C56JR on your 2020 Ford F-350. You will likely need a Adjustable Receiver # BLU48CR as well to keep the tow bars within 3" of level.

The Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 will allow you to tie into your factory tail lights so they operate off of your 2023 Renegade Verona.

I find the Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System # DM26VR is the best solution since your Verona has air brakes. This will tie into the air brakes on your Verona so the brakes only operate when you are using your brakes. You will also want the Charge Line # RM-156-25 to keep the battery on your F-350 from being drained by the braking system.
