Can the B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System Be Connected On Incline?
Updated 04/28/2024 | Published 04/26/2024 >
Question:
Can the Continuum weight distribution load bar be connected to the spindle when the truck and trailer are at an angle, say if the truck is 45 degrees off from being in-line with the trailer? What about if the truck and trailer are out-of plane, say if the truck attitude is 15 degrees off from being in-plane with the trailer? I presume that the hydraulic cylinder should not be pressurized until the truck and trailer are in-line and in-plane with each other, but I would like to know if the load bar can at least be connected or removed at angles like this if all of the cylinder pressure has been released.

Yes, it can! The B&W Continuum item # BW78FR can be hooked up to the trailer on uneven ground or at an angle. You are correct though you will want to wait until the tow vehicle and trailer are level and lined up before pressurizing the system.
