Does Roadmaster Diode RM690 Prevent Overcharging

Does the Roadmaster RM690 diode prevent overcharging the towed vehicle battery. In other words does this product control the charge amperage to prevent overcharging. Thanks, Walt

Hey Walt, know the Roadmaster diode part # RM-690 does not have any over charge safety features. With that said most of the time the charge coming through this diode isn't going to be strong enough to really significantly over charge anything.

@Walt The part # RM-156-25 is a better choice if you are looking for a kit to add a charge line to your towed vehicle but it also doesn't have any overcharging protection. This is just a wire and a circuit breaker. If there was a short on the circuit the breaker would trip though so in that way it has circuit protection. The diode you mentioned is more ideal for a situation where you wanted to prevent backfeeding of amperage/voltage.
