Hey Bob, I don't know of any safety concerns regarding the Bulldog Round, A-Frame Jack # BD155033 and the tongue weight does not change.

This jack has a 2,000 lb lift capacity, so as long as your trailer's tongue weight is less than 2,000 lbs, this'll work great.

From the bottom of the mounting plate to the bottom of the outer tube is 3-1/4 inches on the Pro Series Round, A-Frame Jack #PS1401000303. I've attached a picture as well.

The Bulldog #BD155033 has bottom of mounting bracket to bottom of inner tube dimension of 5-13/16 inches when the jack is fully retracted. Its 2000 lb lift capacity is more than enough to handle the tongue weight of your trailer.
