Features to know about

Faster Hookups: Drop Leg Saves Time and Effort

Getting the trailer on and off the hitch doesn’t need to wear you out. The Square A-Frame Jack w/ Footplate has a drop leg that adds 13-1/2" of height on top of 15-1/4" of lift, giving you a total 28-3/4" adjustment. Just pull the pin, drop the leg, and you’re nearly at the right height before you ever start cranking. The sidewind handle turns smoothly, and the built-in grease zerk keeps the gears lubricated so operation stays easy over time.

Built for Heavy Loads: Strong 3,000-lb Lift, 5,000-lb Support Capacity

This jack earns its “heavy-duty” label. With a 3,000-lb lift capacity and 5,000-lb support capacity, it’s strong enough for loaded utility trailers and equipment haulers. The square design resists flex better than round tubes, giving you a solid, stable feel when lifting or parking. The footplate is welded on and keeps the jack from sinking into soft ground, so you don’t have to dig out blocks every time you unhitch.

Smooth Operation and Easy Maintenance: Sidewind Handle with Grease Fitting

The sidewind handle’s 8-1/8" radius gives you plenty of leverage without getting in the way. Cranking feels effortless thanks to clean gearing and the grease fitting that keeps everything turning smoothly. Reviewers love how solid and consistent it feels, even under load. The zinc-finished handle, inner tube, and footplate resist rust, while the outer tube’s black powder coat adds another layer of durability against the elements.

Tough Finish, Simple Install: Ready for Everyday Use

This isn’t a throwaway jack—it’s built for long-term use in real conditions. The zinc-plated inner parts fight corrosion, and the black powder-coated outer tube keeps it looking sharp after rain, dirt, and road salt. Bolt-on installation is straightforward with standard A-frame spacing, so replacement or upgrade jobs go fast. Once on, the clearance of 17-5/8" from bracket to top and a retracted height of 7-1/8" mean it stays out of the way until you need it.

Jack looks good but did not meet expectations as the square tube is larger than the hole for the existing round tube it's replacing and the mounting holes do not match. If mounting holes are standard then the jack that came with my trailer originally must not have been.

by:

Service was fantastic and the hitch that I ordered was PERFECT. They got it here FAST and headache free. The square tube hitch is perfect and sturdier than my previous hitch and being able to raise it within itself makes it better than the original.

by:

Quality of the jack is excellent
Easy
bolt on installation
Position of mounting plate was a little high for my application but the removable foot plate extension allowed for ground clearance when retracted
This trailer is used with a diesel pusher and has an extremely low clearance at some driveways

by:

Had to modify my trailer slightly but this adjustable base jack has been an absolute savior for my back when cranking up with a load on the car trailer. A great upgrade from what was there

by:

As always, very pleased with etrailer.com. Their speed, pricing and customer service is second to none.
I needed a new jack for my equipment trailer and wanted to upgrade to a drop leg jack. I naturally went to etrailer to begin my search. I didn't want to go the weld on route and since my trailer previously had a standard bolt on tongue mount jack, I wanted to use the existing holes. This jack claimed to line up with existing bolt on tongue jacks however, two of the three bolts we off by maybe 1/2". In addition I was replacing a round jack with a square one, so obviously I had to modify the circle where the previous jack was mounted. I was able to quickly modify the bolt holes and the round hole with the plasma cutter and bolted it up no problem.

Jack seems high quality and name brand and I love the fact that it has a grease fitting for serviceability. The only reason for 4 stars was the fact that it wasn't a true "direct fit, bolt on" jack. Otherwise, another GREAT experience with etrailer !!

by:

Bent the factory jack on my boat trailer. Bought this replacement one. Had to do some trimming and drill new holes for it to fit, but expected that because it was a heavy duty jack than what was originally installed.

by:

great product ,great price and excellent service.Fast shipping.product arrived in box wrapped heavy duty for shipping

by:

Very good product. Easy to install.

by:

Like others have said, needed to modify the coupler and bottom reinforcement plate as the original jack was round and this is square. Additionally, I had to re-drill two of the bolt holes as they were in slightly different locations.

Drop leg is a big improvement and well worth the effort. Only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that the gears are not as smooth as I would like. I have several trailers and other square, drop leg, side handle jacks are smoother. It's not bad and appears very strong so overall I would buy one again.

by:

Sorry, haven’t used the trailer but a couple of times only use it to haul hay once or twice a year but it works great was more impressed with the terminal connection box that I bought for the same trailer that goes between the truck harness and the trailer wiring it worked great after I realized the color code on 7 pin pigtail harness from the truck does not match the correct wiring color code for a flatbed trailer can send you a picture if you want anyway great service thanks

by:

The trailer jack has worked great. We’ve put it to use a lot over the last year and it has never had even the slightest issue. I’d buy it again, although this one is so sturdy I doubt I’ll ever need to replace it.

Jack works great. Damaged the original when I forgot to lift the foot and hit my concrete parking apron. After I straighten out the mount this jack fit the hole perfectly and works great.

Still working great, being very vigilant about making sure it’s all the way up.

by:

I have not installed it yet, but the jack came very well packaged and the jack is very well built and just what I needed. I looked high and low on other online retailers and nothing compared to the choices provided by etrailer. The shiping was extremely fast also.

Jack is performing great... love how I can adjust the length when unhooking from the truck... no longer have to cary around a block of wood.

by:

The A-frame jack continues to operate smoothly on my enclosed trailer.

The 15" travel with the added length from using the adjustable drop leg works well to accommodate the high tongue height of a drive over trailer.

Much handier than the pinned and removable foot plate it replaced.

Wish I would have upgraded sooner, is the first thing that comes to mind. The original equipment jack should be against the law of building trailers. I've never owned a trailer from a company that installs a jack long enough to reach the ground and lift the trailer off the ball, without having to use a block of some sort. This solves that issue! The drop leg alone gets you within an inch or two of where you'll start winding the jack to lift it off the ball. The side handle location is better in my opinion, and this has a grease fitting for maintenance. When installing, I had to turn the round hole into a square hole using my angle grinder with a cutoff wheel, maybe took 20 minutes to lay out the cut lines, make the cuts, and finish up with a file to smooth the edges. You will have to re-locate the 2 rear holes of the jack when mounting as they don't line up with the original ones. This is no big deal though, and even though the metal I was drilling through was pretty thick, if you'll put a few drops of oil in the spot you're drilling and then re-apply once or twice while drilling, this part will go quickly and easily and you won't burn your drill bit up. Don't forget the original equipment bolts are threaded, so you'll need some bolts, washers and nuts once you drill the 2 rear holes, unless you have the tools to thread them. I hope those few humble suggestions help anyone considering buying this. I couldn't be happier, and I"ll be buying another for my smaller trailer, even though this is rated for way more than it can haul. Worth every penny, don't hesitate to buy.

by:

Good Jack I don’t care for the pin that has the wire to lock it on.

by:

Probably a little over kill for my utility trailer but really wanted the drop leg option and I did rip the original one off with my truck tailgate.. Liked having the ability to turn foot around in which ever direction I wanted. Great communication and fast shipping on everything that I have purchased from etrailer.com...

by:

Great product, smooth operation. Has a grease fitting.

by:

Y'ALL DON'T NEED TO ASK WHAT STAR YOU'RE ALL THE STARS

by:

Smooth a works perfect. Excellent customer service and speedy delivery.

by:

Very tough jack. It's a little slow moving because it's geared to handle so much weight. But the adjustable foot quickly gets it close to the ground. My trailer tongue required a few cuts to fit the square jack in my previously round hole. The back two bolts needed holes drilled as well.

by:

Great product and fast shipping!

by:

Instillation was very easy and it works amazingly. My trailer had a electric jack before and I was always having to maintain a battery, now I don't he to mess with that and it lifts super easy. I highly recommend this jack for enclosed trailers or heavy tongue weighted trailers.

  • How To Stop A-Frame Jack From Scrapping Ground While Going Over Bumps
I do have an option for you but I don't have any way to reduce the ground clearance of your existing a-frame jack . That said, what you can do to fix this issue is replace your existing jack with the Ultimate Trailer Jack part # 322-RDJ-2K. The Ultimate Trailer Jack can be adjusted so that the foot is even with the bottom of the frame so there's no more worrying about bottoming out. This also makes it much faster to raise the trailer as the jack acts as a drop leg.

  • Do you Have a A-Frame Jack for my 7,000 Pound Trailer with an Adjustment Greater than 23"?
Hello Greg, I’m assuming the overall weight of your trailer is 7,000 pounds. In that case, you’ll just need something to handle the tongue weight of the trailer. Tongue weight typically falls between 10–15% of your overall trailer weight, which would put you between 700–1,050 lbs. We don’t have anything in a round tube that has a 23" lift, so I’m hoping you’re referring to the overall extended height. Hello Jason, The Trailer Valet Adjustable Drill Powered Square Jack - 3,000 lbs # TV83FR can work on a 2017 Airstream Tommy Bahama Travel Trailer, as long as a couple of things are confirmed first. The 3,000 lb lifting capacity is generally sufficient for that model’s tongue weight, but it is still a good idea to double-check the actual loaded tongue weight to be sure you stay within the jack’s limits. You will also want to verify that the jack can be mounted cleanly to the A-frame after...
