My wife has a 2019 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk with factory installed side rails. Interested in Malone cross bars and Kayak carrier. Can you recommend the best combination Malone cross bars and Kayak carrier.

Hello Karl, you came to the right place. As far as the Malone roof rack for the 2019 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk with the factory installed side rails, I recommend going with the 65" Airflow2 Roof Rack. We have them available in silver # MPG217 and in black # MAL24AR. I like the longer 65" bars mainly because it will give you more space for your gear. I am not sure how many or what kind of kayaks you will be carrying, but you could easily two or possible 3 kayaks on a 65" bar, provided you stay under the 165 lb max weight capacity.

The best Malone kayak carrier to go with that is the Malone DownLoader # MPG114MD. I like this one for a few reasons. It will be an easy clamp on installation, and the uprights are easily adjustable to accommodate virtually any shape of kayak. The upright arms can also be folded down when not in use.

Another cool thing is that Malone makes a lift-assist system # MPG351XL which can be added to the DownLoader Kayak Carrier. This is an optional add on, but it is definitely nice to have if you have larger, heavier kayaks. Sometimes it can be tricky getting the kayak all the way up on to the roof, especially if you or your wife are out kayaking solo.
