Why Is Curt Hitch for 2025 Honda Pilot Not Compatible With Vertical Hanging Bike Rack

Why does Curt not recommend using this hitch receiver with a vertical hanging bike rack?

Hi Anthony; the forces applied to the # C22HR hitch and the frame from a vertical hanging bike rack (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically) are different from your standard platform rack like the # HLY94FR or hanging bike rack. Curt runs their hitches through a lot of testing so I'm sure they found the stress from this rack style is too much for the hitch and/or vehicle frame.

@Anthony the Curt and etrailer # e27KR which shares the same design are the only options so I don't have one that will work with that bike rack style.
