Question:

I have a 2023 Honda Passport. Is there a particular hitch you sell that won’t interfere or minimizes interference with the liftgate sensor?

Hi Burt,

Because of the placement of the sensors compared to the position that the hitch will mount there are no trailer hitches available that won't impact the functionality in some way. Typically if you wave you foot on either side of the receiver tube you'll still be able to activate the liftgate sensors, it's just going to take a bit of playing around to find the sweet spot.

For your 2023 Honda Passport I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e44AR. This hitch comes with a matte black powder coating that hides scratches and dings from the road a lot better than the glossy finish other hitches come with. If you plan on towing a trailer then you'll also want to pick up the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118809 to transfer your light signals.
